Pablo Picasso once said that “A baby will make love stronger, days shorter, nights longer, bankroll smaller, home happier, clothes shabbier, the past forgotten and the future worth living for.”
I was able to witness how his words ring true, as I soon as I stepped through the door and met my newborn nephew, Caleb, who was born on the 3rd of February (on my birthday). Over the course of the week that I was with my sister and her family, I was able to witness the joy and the sacrifice that comes with raising children and I was in awe of how beautiful my nephew and niece are and what amazing parents my sister and brother in law have become.
Although I don’t have a lot of experience photographing babies, my sister insisted that I bring along my camera and that I try to document the week. I was happy to oblige, and once I started photographing the two munchkins, I was so grateful to have been given this opportunity as I completely fell in love with photographing babies and families and capturing the expressions of pure love and joy.
Once I made a small selection of the photos I took, I knew I had to share the photos on my website and spread the news that I will be doing more newborn photography! It wasn’t easy to choose from all the gorgeous photos, but here are some of my favourite from the week so enjoy and feel free to spread the news! I cannot wait to do more family portrait sessions in the future. Stay tuned.
